S: The quotation which I have the biggest problem with is ‘all is fair in love and war’.
A: You have a problem with everything. That is your trademark. If you don’t write it, you don’t like it.
S: You don’t see it as problematic, what is being said there?
A: Your biggest gripe is that the world is unfair. That everything is unfair.
S: And you don’t believe in fairness? You don’t dream of a meritocracy? Of the reign of justice?
A: These people are not as talented, intelligent, creative or as hardworking as you. Because they are not, they use sycophancy and manipulation to get ahead, which you think you are too good for. No, it is not a meritocracy, but you also do not play the game. So therefore, it is only you that dreams of meritocracy because you have merit.
S: If the game is corrupt, you should not play it. That is precisely my problem with the quotation. Whether it is love or war, if the game is unfair and corrupt, you should not play it. You should not justify your abhorrent actions by permitting everything.
A: Let’s just take love into consideration. Do you think that evolution and Mother Nature care how you go about getting a baby? They don’t. They don’t have a moral compass. Whatever survives, it can be the worst of the worst. It just carries on into the next generation. Look at yourself. You think you are good. You volunteer. You try to right the world. You won’t stoop to any meanness. And look at you. You don’t have any children. You are not going to pass on your genes to the next generation. Where have your morals got you? Nobody even listens to anything that you say because it doesn’t favour their way of doing things.
S: Reproduction favours the selfish. The grasping and immoral selfish get everything in this world.
A: Why not become like them then, you who want everything?
S: The price is too high. When your honour is gone, then you have nothing.
A: Then your genes will perish from the gene pool.
S: I have four nephews. I myself was created through the blood of my father and the blood of my mother. It is in the family. My grandfather was as talented as I am. I got those genes too. It does not necessarily have to come from me directly.
A: The blood, yes. That can come through other channels. But what about the mind, the wisdom and the experience? You don’t think nurture plays any part? You think it is all nature?
S: There is fairness. There is justice. I do not accept that they do not exist. There is sin and there is good. There is evil and there are those that are heroes. All is not fair in love and war. There are rules. There are standards. And we live up to those standards. I do not lie to those that I love. I do not cheat on those that I love. I do not stoop to anything that goes against my conscience to gain anyone in love. I will not act as anything different to what I am to gain love. Integrity and honour are everything. It is better to be alone than to betray yourself, your community and the one that you love. So what if being good means that you are alone? It is better to be clean than to be filthy like the ones that get all the love in this world.
A: You think that you are too good for everyone. And that is why no one likes you.
