You are never free from judgement. You are always being judged.
Love first. The ones that you are attracted to, they are judging you. They do it to everyone. Why would you be different? They are judging whether or not they want to be with you. They all do it, whether you are attracted to them or not. If you are suitable, then they have judged you as worthy. If you are unsuitable, they have judged you as unworthy. Constant judgement.
Work next. You are judged on whether you are capable of doing the job at interview. You are judged on whether you are capable of doing the job while you are doing it, through performance reviews. You are judged on whether you could be promoted, whether you are deserving of advancement. Constant judgement.
Then, life. You are judged on your income, your fashion, your music taste, your taste in food, your lifestyle, whether or not you exercise, whether or not you live at home with your parents, on your friendship circle, on your political opinions, on your language, on your behaviour, etc.
All of this follows constant judgement as a child at school, where you are endlessly assessed and examined. You can never escape from judgement your whole life.
And it is not just you that is being judged. Because you spend all of your time judging others for all of the things that I have mentioned above as well. We are all judging and being judged.
And this is what is so unfair about judging and criticising this society for what it is. I am being judged all the time. Yet if I judge this society, these people, then I am doing something wrong. Because I am an ethnic minority. Because I am seen as a perceived outsider. Everyone else is allowed to judge except for us. Why? Because judgement is associated with those in power. Your boss is a judge. Your teacher is a judge. The one you’re attracted to, you bestow power upon them to judge you and consider your suit.
But if you are perceived as different? If you are perceived as having less power? Then you are not supposed to judge. People hate you for it. They do not believe that you have the right to do it. Us that are different, we are expected to roll over and let them give it to us.
And this is why I do not stop judging. I judge and I criticise. Because if everyone else can do it, why can’t we do it? If everyone is subjecting us to their prejudiced and judgemental opinions, why can’t we do it to them? They deserve it more. Because they are racists. They are corrupt in their judgements. But you know, when we do it, they say that we are racists, rather than them. They say that we hate women, we hate democracy, truth and justice. They say we have a chip on our shoulder. They judge us even more than they did before.
This is how judgement operates in this country. It is a conspiracy of judgement. This judgement is hypocritical, unfair and illogical. It has no legitimacy because it is just an expression of corrupt power.
