My qualifications outside of work and study

13.08.2026

Today, the ‘A’ Level results are coming in for my family, so I was thinking about education and opportunities in life. These are completed certificates for study that I have done outside of work and formal higher education in my own spare time. While they show my intelligence, drive, ambition, hard work, commitment, curiosity, motivation, drive and initiative, the only course that got me to where I wanted at the time was the Leadership Essentials Course. Which begs the question – what type of education do we actually value and reward in this society? Thoughts from a lifelong learner with five degrees including a PhD.
